Evangelicals For War (Again)
In a recent Takimag essay, the estimable Paul Gottfried explained that the neoconservative movement consists of two factions he describes as “ill-mannered, touchy Jews” and their “groveling or adulatory Christian assistants." In the former category, Gottfried includes the Frum-Kagan-Podhoretz-Kristol axis of evil. Occupying the “servants’ quarters” are Bill Bennett, Michael Novak, Cal Thomas and other lesser lights of the “conservative movement.”
Among conservatives of the Religious Right variety, Israel and her neocon hirelings find unqualified support among Dispensational fundamentalists and Hagee-style Pentecostals. In my denomination, the SBC, Richard Land provides political cover for neocons and supporters of Israeli policy vis-a-vis Arab states and the Palestinians.

The “tough talk” from Christians is expected but disheartening nevertheless. Christians have lost their moral compass when they endorse unbiblical and wicked means as a mechanism to bring about a good end. The goal of sanctions is to harm civilians economically and commercially so that they will pressure their government into making policy changes. In this respect, they are merely a form of state-sponsored terrorism. Sanctions, and the blockades necessary to enforce them, are acts of war according to international law. Moreover, sanctions will not work. The Iranian regime is already teetering, having lost legitimacy in the eyes of many of its own citizens. Sanctions imposed by the
But strategic imperatives and moral considerations are out the window. The only question on the table is, “Does Israel want it?”

I know it's off topic, but did you know that The Manhattan Declaration was drafted by a member of the CFR who serves UNESCO? Check out the evidence at

I'll read through some more of this later. I am admirer of Mohler, but have taken Land to task many times on this blog. I've also criticized Mohler, Colson, Dobson, etc. in terms of their positions on foreign policy and politics. So if you haven't checked out the blog before, peak around.
I know it is off topic, but I'd like to warn your readers against facilitator-led church groups.

The Evangelicals' affirm a false Christian piety--when advocating such a conflict. In hopes that prophecy is being fulfilled. This may make you opposed to Christianity. However -- realise that an actual Protestant finds his standing and faith in actual stewardship that is doing his/her part in maintaining himself and culture. Of wich could include establishing such meddling in foreign affairs. I don't exalt Israel, Israel has no or a negative impression to me as a Protestant Christian. Evangelicals that are not war mongering for Israel and the mid-east -- to bring about a return of Christ or Satan's world order -- are doing such to establish stewardship in a different perspective. That perspective -- i say still correlates in what i previously mentioned.
